Licensed OpticianIt's exciting to be a key part of a progressive, leading edge practice.
I have been in the optical industry since high school when I started working in the office of Dr. Louis Bresin, in Crestline. I have passed rigorous state examinations in optics and dispensing and have been a Licensed Optician since 1976.
I am truly excited by the new technology in lens production, and what we can offer to our patients. The newer lenses can be made thinner, more scratch resistant, and more resistant to breakage. We can also eliminate reflections, and increase transmission of light, which means we are helping our patients to see as well as humanly possible.
Our patients like not only seeing well, but also that the frames they select make them look good, as the newer frames are truly fashion accessories. Our patients are frequently complimented by their appearance, and that brings a great deal of satisfaction to me.

Certified ParaoptometricI have worked in an optometric office since 2002, having begun in Sandusky with colleagues and friends of Drs. Collier and Gortz. When I relocated to Bucyrus in 2006, my former employers gave me a strong endorsement, and I have since enjoyed being a part of this very progressive office.
I am a Certified Paraoptometric, meaning I have taken significant training and passed rigorous testing by the Ohio Optometric Association in all areas of assisting in a complete and thorough vision examination.
I assist our doctors in preliminary testing for initial eye examinations and specialized testing for conditions that may affect normal vision to include glaucoma, macular degeneration, and neurological dysfunctions.
I also assist our patients in selecting frames that compliment their appearance, and help them not only to see well, but to look good with the glasses they select.

I have been with Eyecare Optiques for twenty years.
My main duties are assisting the doctors in fitting, ordering, and verifying all types of contact lenses, including toric lenses, bifocals and extended wear lenses. As a State Licensed Contact Lens Optician, I assist in making the ideal choice of lenses for patients, and teaching proper contact lens hygiene, and insertion and removal of contact lenses.
I am also frequently called on for preliminary and supplemental testing, using the sophisticated instrumentation we utilize to more thoroughly examine our patients eyes. I love to work with all the cutting edge technology we use to help meet our patients' needs.

Receptionist/BillingI initially started with the Eyecare Optiques Team in 1978, however, left for a period of time to raise my family, and returned in 2005.
My position might best be described as a "traffic co-ordinator". I am the receptionist, and am resposible for the business office, and answering our four phone lines. I am usually the first person to greet our patients on the phone or when you come to the office, and the last one to see you as you leave.
When you arrive, we will update your information, before sending you on for your examinations. With my training going back over thirty years I also fill in to assist with some of the auxilary testing that may be needed to be of assistance to the doctors in helping you to see.
